Activity Overview

 

 

All the activities under the CHIP program are designed to assist low-to-moderate Income homeowners with needed repairs to their homes and to restore the existing housing stock in Brown County.

 

The current activities for homeowners are:

 

  • Private Owner Rehabilitation - Whole house rehabilitation
  • Home Repair - Repair to one system in the home.

 

Generally, eligible applicants will have their homes evaluated for needed repair on a first come, first considered basis. The CHIP Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for the evaluation of the homes and for the development of the scope of work for each project.

 

Generally Eligible Means:

 

  • Household Income is below the maximum listed on the HUD Section 8 Chart for your family size and...
  • You are the owner of record at the address for which you are applying for assistance and it is occupied by you, the owner.

 

This program is sponsored by the Brown County Board of Commissioners through funding provided by the Ohio Department of Development, Office of Community Development and is administered by the Commissioners Development Department.
